A beautiful and charming guest house located at the centre of Vejer’s historical quarter and a minutes walk to Plaza de Espana  and only a 12 minute drive to the golden sands of El Palmar beach.

The building, wrapped around an arched central courtyard, was constructed in the traditional style of local architecture and dates back to the late 18 century and was renovated to a very high standard in 2008. All the plumbing and electricity was replaced as well as the roof-top terrace and many of the walls on the first floor. Great efforts were made to conserve the original beams, cement floor tiles, paving stones, doors and windows and to replace other elements with reclaimed or locally sourced materials when necessary. The building also has a contemporary floating staircase, tadelakt showers, oak flooring as well as the owners handmade ceramics tiles, basins and lamps.  Every effort has been made to preserve the original character of the property whilst combining elements of  modern design including some personal additions.

Current distribution is as follows:

Guesthouse made up of traditional entrance “zaguan”, 2 studio apartments, a suite and a double bedroom all with en-suite bathrooms, small launderette with washing machine and dryer, huge rooftop terrace, breakfast/reading room, kitchenette/bar area, a spacious ceramics workshop with toilet, cave & the owners living quarters (115 m2) which compromise a 50m2 open-plan sitting room/kitchen with toilet, split level bedroom/bathroom and large attic with fitted cupboards.  Two entrances from the street, one used by the owners to their private apartment and the other used by guests.  .

Huge rooftop terrace with great views of the countryside, pergolas, outdoor furniture and a rooftop garden. There is access to the roof top terrace from the guest area and a separate access via the owner’s private accommodation.

The guesthouse has the touristic category of “Casa Rural” which is superior to “Alojamiento Turístico de Vivienda Rural” since it allows for the guesthouse to be open all year, for the employment of cleaning staff and for the serving of breakfast. The ceramics workshop has its own separate license which if desired could be changed to a restaurant license in the future or the workshop could be converted into a large studio apartment (or two smaller apartments). Another possibility is to use the house as a family home and rent out the two studio apartments downstairs.
